Your website is the hub to your digital marketing. There has been a lot of talk recently that websites are no longer relevant but for most businesses and organisations it’s the only place on the internet that you can genuinely control. Your Facebook™ and LinkedIn™ accounts can be taken from you at a moment’s notice. Amazon™ and eBay™ are the same. If you don’t comply with one of their rules then they suspend your account without notice and it can take a lot of work to get it reinstated, if at all.
There are many ways you can develop a website and mostly this will depend on your budget and what your objectives are.
We are not website developers but we have a lot of experience helping project manage website development for clients as we have the technical knowledge and systems to monitor whether they are doing a good job or not.
How We Can Help
Here are some of the things we can help you with the development of your website:
- Project specification
- Procurement (we will help you interview the suppliers)
- Project support (we help you answer questions that the developer may ask & ensure you retain control of the site)
- Monitoring once it has been launched
- Selection of an SEO company to help you get found in Google
- Monitoring to ensure that the SEO company are doing their job
Why We Offer Website Management
We have developed these services because there are a lot of web developers who see developing your web site, maintaining and making sure it can be found on Google as distinctly different activities and the problem is they aren’t.
You need to know how you want to be found on Google before you even start developing the website and the structure of the site (menus and pages) needs to reflect that. This is something quite a few web developers who “don’t do SEO” don’t take this into consideration and this wastes time and money when an SEO company then has to fix the structure before they can start.
Keeping a website updated so that it is secure is really important and this means when it is developed it is designed so that WordPress and the plugins (small pieces of software that support the site) can be updated without being charged for (as they are free) and don’t break the site. We often come across out of date sites where the developer has done something clever and not used standard components that can be easily updated and so the website can be updated without a cost to the customer.
We know of a number of instances whereby SEO companies have been employed by a business and have had no benefit to the company (at considerable cost and loss of business). We use professional tools to monitor their progress and can speak in their language in the event that there is a problem.
