Connect Personal LinkedIn Accounts to Your Company Page

KUB has helped over a hundred businesses gain more from their LinkedIn through our LinkedIn Workshop, and the one question that always gets asked is ‘How do I gain more followers on my company page?’. Ordinarily, I’ve always replied, ‘with a lot of time and effort and minimal reward.’

If you’re a much larger firm, it’s worthwhile doing. However, if you’re a one-man band or a 2-5 man company, it suddenly takes up a lot of resources, which aren’t worthwhile when other strategies will get the business to its goal quicker. This has now changed (sort of), with LinkedIn’s latest new feature, times are changing.

What you might have missed so far…

With over 500 million user members, and with over half of them logging in daily, LinkedIn is a powerhouse when it comes to business professional networking. You may or may not have noticed but LinkedIn has been making some hefty changes. From the recent (2016) acquisition takeover by Microsoft, they have demonstrated that they keep up with the giants such as Facebook and Google.

In the past two years, we’ve seen the introduction of multiple pictures posts, video posts, reactions to posts and even the rebrand to the company pages in 2018 to “LinkedIn Pages”, as well as our personal favourite, Algorithm changes. Whilst these changes are predominantly focused on our consumer experience, this recent change could prove to be effective for your straight lead generation campaigns.

What are the benefits of having more followers on your LinkedIn Company Page?

LinkedIn Company Page is the only place where your company is given a platform to share content, interact with your audience, recruit new employees and use LinkedIn advertising features. I’d say just those four alone makes your company page worthwhile, but did you know?

In the top of your funnel, 50% of your social traffic comes from LinkedIn compared to B2B websites and blogs. More importantly, when it comes to the bottom of the funnel, 80% of your total leads from social media have been reported to come from LinkedIn compared to Twitter and Facebook. That’s pretty impressive; LinkedIn clearly stands out as the place to go for B2B marketing.

Bottom line is, if you are able to drive more traffic consisting of your target audience to your company page with relevant, engaging content, you’re more likely to gain quality leads and increase conversion in your B2B marketing activities.

How do I gain more followers on my LinkedIn Company Page?

Head to your LinkedIn Company Page. You can do this by clicking the drop-down under your picture.

When you’re into your LinkedIn Company Page (you need to make sure you’re an admin to do this), click the drop-down under “Admin Tools” and head to “Invite Connections”.

Now, here’s the catch. If you were thinking this was too good to be true, then you would be correct. However many connections you have on your personal profile will dictate how long it takes you to invite everyone INDIVIDUALLY, MANUALLY. Yup. You heard me correct. That being said, it’ll be worth it. See below the two ways you can invite individuals’ LinkedIn pages to follow your LinkedIn Company Page.

Unfortunately, you’re not able to bulk invite or filter search the connections you want to send invites to but, fingers crossed in the future, this is where the feature will go to. You can search for specific people, so if you have a number of close associates, they’re a great place to start.

I have a lot of followers, how am I supposed to invite everyone to my page?

There’s only one answer here- Large chunks at a time. I’ll give you an example. KUB, across our employees, has over 50,000 followers. Let’s say if it takes 1 second to invite everyone individually, that will equate to 750 minutes or 12.5 hours. That’s not including breaks. No one in their right mind will do that for 12.5 hours, plus, LinkedIn’s Best Practices would have something to say about it. So, we’re left to outsourcing it to a company like ourselves or sitting there and getting the job done a little bit at a time.

What to do next…

If you follow these steps, you’ll be making a good start in expanding your network and showcase proof of being connected with people who endorse your business. This will help you to build on your reputation overall, as well as to increase the chance of generating solid leads through LinkedIn. The change is still fresh, so it doesn’t come without its obstacles, but dedicating time to it is certainly worthwhile.
